Summer School: 23 June – 21 July 2008

Saint Joseph High School summer session is open to any student who is presently enrolled in a high school or who will enter high school in September of 2008. Students from St. John Bosco and other Catholic high schools may enroll in Summer Session 2008.

Some review courses provide students with the opportunity to repeat a course and improve a poor grade received during the school year. Other review courses are designed to meet the needs of incoming freshmen who are accepted based on various academic prerequisites. The Proficiency of Writing (P.O.W.) course is offered to currently enrolled students who have not passed the P.O.W. requirement; it is mandatory for seniors.

Enrichment courses in Fine Arts, Business and Computer Science, Social Science, and Science are also offered—for credit replacing courses normally taken during the regular school year and/or to fulfill UC requirements. In addition, elective courses in Athletics and Driver’s Education are offered.

Courses taken to qualify for another level course must be passed with an overall minimum grade of C. In accordance with state policies regarding attendance hours required for credits, more than three absences will result in a NO CREDIT/WITHDRAWAL.

All summer school faculty and staff are fully qualified to teach their particular courses. Their primary educational focus is based on the Saint Joseph High School philosophy that every student is unique and is entitled to a Catholic, quality, holistic education.
