COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Church continues the mission of Jesus and endeavors to bring about God’s Kingdom. This one mission has three aspects: proclaiming and teaching God’s word, celebrating the sacred mysteries, and serving the people of the world. Corresponding to the three aspects of the Church’s mission and existing to serve it are three ministries: the ministry of the Word, the ministry of worship and the ministry of service. “Exercising in all of the spiritual and corporal works of mercy of which woman is capable, we continue in this spirit and engage in the works of compassion and mercy which respond to the spiritual and corporal needs of persons in our times” (Constitution of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet).
