COLLEGE/CAREER COUNSELING


The College Counseling Program is directed by academic
advisors who:
  • obtain college and university catalogs and assist with college application procedures;
  • direct applications for College Entrance Examination Board test and counsel examinees on the basis of their scores;
  • provide information about college scholarships, encourage students to apply and administer college scholarship examinations, if necessary; and
  • set up appointments for each graduate to be interviewed on all matters pertaining to college entrance.

The Career Guidance Program at Saint Joseph High School, also directed by the academic advisors, offers students the following opportunities to:
  • receive career information available in the College/Career Center and in the Media Center;
  • hear periodic guest speakers on careers;
  • explore various career options;
  • discover their capabilities and limitations, interests and aptitudes;
  • receive direction toward appropriate career options; and
  • take four different career exploration instruments.
