UNIFORM POLICY

The Christian message is a call to a lifestyle that is different from the norm of society. Dress and grooming regulations, based on that call, are centered around cleanliness, neatness, modesty, good taste and safety.Listed below are specific rules which give definite statements for dress and grooming. These regulations are to be observed by all students at all times while at school or at any school function (field trips, games, etc.) unless specific regulations, differing from those listed below, are given by the Administration or Deans of Students. The school reserves the right at all times to determine whether or not a student is appropriately dressed and groomed. The Deans of Students reserve the right to request any student to change attire to regulate against certain fashions, and to confiscate any objectionable items when they deem it necessary. Students who violate the dress code will receive an “Out of Uniform” and a detention. Additional disciplinary action includes: requiring the student to change into uniform clothing kept by the Deans, and /or denial of participation in future casual dress days. If out of uniform corrections cannot be made by the student on campus, the student’s parent will be called and required to bring the correction to school while the student waits in the Dean’s Office, or if correction cannot be made, the student’s parent will be called to pick the student up and take her home. The Student Body of Saint Joseph High School, by electing their student leaders, gives them the right to help formulate and enforce certain rules and regulations, under the direction of the Student Council Moderator. The Administration and the Student Council for the betterment of the Associated Student Body established the following rules. These rules may be changed by the administration with faculty and Student Council input.
