TRANSFER STUDENTS
Placement for students transferring to SJHS is considered in the fall and at semester if space is available. Enrollment is permitted second semester of the freshmen year, fall and semester of the sophomore and junior years.
An application must be submitted to the director of admissions along with a copy of the student’s official transcripts (3 years) and two recommendations. Students interested in transferring must have an acceptable discipline and attendance record. In addition, all credits must be up-to-date with no grades below “C” on their transcripts. After review of transcripts and recommendation, the admissions committee will determine if the student is eligible for a personal interview. If an interview is granted, the student and parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted by the director of admiss ions. After the interview process the admissions committee will make a final decision.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Department of Catholic Schools (Archdiocese of Los Angeles) will issue an I-20 SEVIS to students who have completed the application process and have been accepted to Saint Joseph High School. An I-20 SEVIS cannot be issued prior to the completion of the application process and acceptance from the admissions committee. The I-20 SEVIS processing fee, payable to the Department of Catholic Schools, is $400.00.

Transcripts and recommendations must be translated to English prior to submission. The non-refundable application fee for international students is $250.00. International students must have an acceptable discipline and attendance record. In addition, all credits must be up-to-date with no grades below “C” on their transcripts. After review of transcripts and recommendation, the admissions committee will determine if the student is eligible for a personal interview. If an interview is granted, the student and parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted by the director of admissions. The applicant must be present for the personal interview and the language/writing proficiency examination. Phone interviews are not an acceptable alternative for a personal interview. After the interview process the admissions committee will review the completed application information and make a final decision.
